can BbLD sidebar work with buddypress group forum?

Hi there

I'm trying to use BbLD sidebar with BuddyPress to show the most recent forum posts in my groups.

However the sidebar widget links take users to the bbpress forum pages rather than the Buddypress forum pages.

Is there any way to enable the sidebar to be BuddyPress compatible?

My bbpress/BbLD links are like this:

forums/topic/topic-title-words

but BuddyPress links are like this:

groups/forum-title-words/forum/topic/topicnumber

Is it possible to add the forum name to the BbLD url link and then perhaps use a .htaccess rewrite? Or any other solution?

In theory it should work without any problem. But i think this doesn't mean for default Buddypress, because i check Buddypress.org and their URL is same as default Bbpress. Unless you are using Buddypress forum group plugin.

Could you give me full URL so i can try see what i can do about this.

As for the buddypress link "groups/forum-title-words/forum/topic/topicnumber", from here "/forum/topic/topicnumber" we can use the build in permalink inside Bbld. But i need to confirm 1 thing. On "groups/forum-title-words/", is the "forum-title-words" fixed or can change depend on forum name?

Do a little research already and i think it not impossible to archive that. But it need time and a lot of testing to go there. There are several thing i still looking for.

I found out that inside BP core there is one function to find what forum id is assign to that group, don't know if there any function to find group id base on forum id. Bbld already fetch the forum id, maybe need to do some reverse engineering to get the group id. lol...

To make it simple, Bbld fetch all the data like the usual way -> get group id from the forum id -> parse the new URL format. Well, this is just the theory but it should work perfectly.

But i still need another 2 important thing, The first thing is what the table name for BP group meta? Is it, "wp_groupmeta" or something else? The second thing is, I need a dedicated tester

~~It should be tag with "1.5 Alpha". For now the plugin will force all link to be create as "Buddypress Link" so it not suit for normal Wordpress/WPMU.~~

It will be tag as "1.5 RC-2". After activated the plugin, you need to goto "BbLD Option" and see the "Permalink Type" Option. Make sure you check on "BuddyPress Support" It should work like magic after that.

I have test it and i think it can be stamp as "Buddypress Certified"

Wow! That's so quick, thanks again

One small thing. One group name I have inlcuded '&'. The BuddyPress url for this group excludes the '&' but in the BbLD it is replaced with amp. So the 2 urls for a group called Tom & Jerry are like this:

BP: groups/tom-jerry/forum/topic/topicnumber
BbLD: groups/tom-amp-jerry/forum/topic/topicnumber

So in this case the BbLD link is not recognised. It a really small problem but thought I'd let you know.
